![]() Too penalizing -> no penalty (reload).Right when you enter town you will be confronted by the Hurdy-Gurdy Man who is speaking about Kinstones. In Bronzeman if your hero die, you wont get any xp for the map, but at least he will be there for another battle.Īnd the list goes on. Warlord Battlecry: you can choose several modes, ironman, bronzeman, tinman. But at least there is another day to fight, and if you die there is generally a good reason (there is no randomisation of damages in Kohan). Kohan : death is penalized heavily, you loose all XP and have to repay 50 gold. Some examples of games which does better than AOW II, in term of heroes death: In AOW II you cant afford this luxury, and you are doomed to reload like a poor cheater when your heroes get a stroke of bad luck (you know the funny things that happens, as an elf warrior doing 21 hits in three strikes.). ![]() In other games where death of important units is less penalized, people can afford to play the game without any reload, and this is where I get the most enjoyment too. ![]() In the fire campaign, I started to play as usual (ironman, never reload), and I can tell you that finishing fire3 without heroes in hard settings was a real pain (124 turns and two thousands units killed to finish the slaughter). What does it do in effect: people reload their turns when they loose an hero. The death of an hero in campaign is far too penalizing, because 1- you wont have access to resurrection often (and even that, they implemented it terribly, I wonder if anybody but the devs like how it is done), and 2- there is no additional heroes to recruits.
